A well-proportioned three bedroom terraced house on Lorne Road.
This charming family home offers just shy of 1000 square feet of internal space, set across two floors, as well as gardens to the front and rear. The ground floor comprises two reception rooms and kitchen. The reception rooms are interconnected, conjoined by large double doors. This makes for a fantastic, multi-purpose space, with the doors being opened or closed depending on need. There is plenty of light, thanks to the shuttered bay to the front and window to the rear, all of which serves to illuminate the high coved ceiling, beautiful flooring and feature fireplace. The kitchen sits to the rear, with views of (and access to) the private garden. It has fitted units ranged along two walls, and has plenty of space to dine as well as prepare.
Upstairs there are three double bedrooms and a wet room. All of the bedrooms have stripped wood flooring and built in storage, with the main bedroom to the front being particularly generously proportioned. The wet room features a walk in shower as part of a three piece suite.
Outside, the rear garden is low maintenance, with paving (ideal for al fresco dining) and border planting.
Living here... - The house is great, so what about the location? Well, with both Queens Road and Central stations moments away, the daily commute could hardly be easier. But who wants to talk about work when there’s so much to see and do when the weekend comes? Why not wander up the road and take in a movie, maybe grabbing a bite to eat afterwards at one of the many restaurants in The Scene or on Hoe Street. Walthamstow Village is the shortest of short strolls away, offering pubs and eateries aplenty, or maybe head down the High Street to The Chequers, where the Sunday roasts are a particular treat. If something more active is what you’re after, then head down Queens Road to Walthamstow Leisure Centre, or maybe get the walking boots on for a visit to the Wetlands Centre, which offers wide open spaces and the possibility to see wildlife in the heart of the city. Whatever your choice, the location of this house will definitely fit the bill…
In The Owners Words... - This has been a home to our family for over 30 years, and it’s exciting to think that new owners are going to love it as much as we have. Lorne road is a very quiet and welcoming street with friendly neighbours and a real community feel. There is a street party held on the road every summer, which attracts people from the surrounding area.
It really does feel like you’re in the heart of everything, with great transport links, and lots of culture and activities on the doorstep; lots of happy memories cycling to Springfield Park and boating on Hollow Ponds. Nights out around the village were always a lot of fun too.
