Living here... - Walthamstow is an amazing place, isn’t it? And this part of E17 is no exception. There is literally no end of things to do and see (or indeed eat and drink) . If you're hungry, there is a staggering choice of cuisines on offer on Hoe Street, from pizza at SoDo or Yard Sale, to Thai, Indian, pub grub and many, many more. There are also plenty of places to meet up with friends for the evening, be it for a pint at The Bell, or a spot of comedy at the Rose & Crown. If you overindulge the night before (surely not!), this can easily be cured by a quick set or two of tennis at nearby Lloyd Park, or even just a stroll with the kids around the beautiful gardens. Speaking of the little ones, why not wander along to the Empire cinema for the chance of an hour or two of escapism whilst watching the latest animated release. And when the delights of the weekend draw all too quickly to a close, this property is ideally located for the commute into town, with Walthamstow Central station but a short walk away.
In This Area - By Walthamstow Diary - Get off the tube at Walthamstow Central and find the world waiting for you. Honestly, this is no exaggeration - if you want something, you’ll likely find it not too far from the station. The market, the longest in Europe, is busy and thriving, and the perfect spot to pick up fresh fruit and veg. Next to the market we have a shopping centre packed with high street names, and right at the top of the High Street you’ll find the cinema and retail complex. Called The Scene, it is home to a ten screen Empire cinema, Pizza Express, and loads of other bars and restaurants. Just around the corner from this new cinema, is a very old one. The hustle and bustle of the High Street is contrasted by the quiet residential streets that surround it. This part of Walthamstow really gives you the best of both worlds, a shopping hub, nightlife, and peace and quiet at home.
In The Owners Words... - We have adored our time living in Pearl Road. The house is a joy to live in and entertain in; the street is quiet as it is one way, the bedrooms upstairs are wonderfully light, the trees in spring are covered in white and pink blossom, and there has been many a dinner party and kids kitchen disco in the kitchen is a fabulous hub for friends and family. We've also really invested in the bathroom, making it a proper sanctuary - so it's a really restful space too.
Along with that, we have loved Lloyd park being a 2 min walk, with it's farmers market, amazing kids play park and gorgeous gallery - perfect for Saturday morning strolls. In addition there are fabulous brunch spots, restaurants, florists, nail bars and art shops all along Hoe street which have made our weekends - and easy cycle rides to the wetlands or the new Crate at St James, as well as some truly cracking pubs. An easy 7 min stroll to the station (grabbing a coffee on route) and with the bus route right on the corner, we really can't recommend it as a home enough.
