There are also plenty of places to meet up with friends for the evening, be it for a pint at The Bell or a night of comedy at The Rose & Crown. Any over indulgence from the night before can easily be cured by a coffee from Perky Blenders whilst sitting on the lawn outside The Magistrates, a quick set or two of tennis at Lloyd Park (it’s literally your neighbour), or even just a stroll around the beautiful gardens. Although if you’re feeling really energetic, Waltham Forest Feel Good Centre (complete with pool) is a hop, skip and a jump from your front door.
When the delights of the weekend draw to a close, this property is ideally located for the commute into town, with Walthamstow Central station but a gentle walk away.
In This Area - By Walthamstow Diary - William Morris was a Walthamstow lad - he lived in the Water House on Forest Road. His childhood home is now the William Morris Gallery, the only gallery on the face of the planet dedicated to his life and work. Lloyd Park, in which the gallery stands, is named after another former resident of the Water House, Edward Lloyd, a publisher of penny dreadfuls. As well as having a medieval moat, playground and a cafe, the park is also home to some great local events, including the May Day dog show which shouldn't be missed. The best dressed dog round is amazing. One year it had a Star Wars theme, with staffie Princess Leia competing against AT-AT Great Danes - it was glorious. The park is surrounded by quiet streets of ex-Warner properties, The Bell pub is around the corner from the gallery, and the cafes of Hoe Street are just a short trot away. Give Wyndwood Art District a go - this little cafe has a lot going on, including a running club and exhibitions. Tommy's Tuc Inn cafe, opposite the park, is a good spot for a hangover fixing breakfast. All this is only a fifteen minute walk from the station.
In The Owners Words... - We've been living here for nearly 5 years and have felt truly welcomed by the local community. Everything we need has been within easy walking distance: Lloyd Park, The Bell pub and Wynwood Café within 5 minutes. Our light flat and spacious garden have kept us sane during Lockdown and we've really enjoyed living here and will be genuinely sad to move on.
