Guide Price: £750,000-£800,000. A bright, stylish and capacious four double bedroom end of terrace house, nestling quietly in the Poets Corner area of E17.
This wonderfully inviting family home offers a massive 1460 square feet (excluding cellar) of internal space, making it larger than many homes in this area. Being end of terrace also makes it incredibly practical after a family trip to the park, as the side access into the rear garden means no muddy foot or wheel prints in the house.
The ground floor comprises four rooms – lounge, dining room, kitchen and bathroom. The first two are similarly sized and ideal for families - the lounge the perfect spot to relax for movie night in with the kids, and the dining room a wonderful space to gather for those all important family meals. The latter also offers access to the garden via bi-fold doors, making it as delightful in summer as in winter. The galley style kitchen is fitted with a range of modern base and eye level units, wooden worktops and tiled floor and splashbacks, whilst the bathroom beyond has a three piece suite and is fully tiled...
- Upstairs the sleeping accommodation is split over two floors. On the first floor there are three double bedrooms (including one that stretches across the full width of the front) and a three piece shower room. Ascend again to the loft, and you’ll discover a fantastic dual aspect main bedroom, complete with juliet balcony.
Outside, that rear garden is low maintenance and courtyard in style, and offers the perfect spot to fire up the BBQ. It’s also not overlooked – quite the rarity in London.
Living here... - Equidistant to Walthamstow Central, the Village and Lloyd Park, Poets Corner could hardly be more ideally located. There’s a real sense of community here, with regular events and street parties, ensuring you will soon know all the neighbours by name. Possibly the best pub in E17 (The Rose & Crown) is on your doorstep, as well as the amazing Yard Sale Pizza, SoDo, The Bell (the list goes on and on), as well as the green spaces of Lloyd Park (anyone for tennis?) and the sights and sounds of the Village and the Ravenswood. It doesn’t get much better than that…
In This Area - By Walthamstow Diary - Get off the tube at Walthamstow Central and find the world waiting for you. Honestly, this is no exaggeration - if you want something, you’ll likely find it not too far from the station. The market, the longest in Europe, is busy and thriving. Pick up fresh fruit and veg, or visit the rotisserie stall on a Saturday for the best pork or chicken baguettes in town. Next to the market we have a shopping centre packed with high street names, and right at the top of the High Street you’ll find our new cinema and retail complex. Called The Scene, it is home to a ten screen Empire cinema, Pizza Express, and loads of other bars and restaurants. Just around the corner from this new cinema, is a very old one. The Granada opened in 1930, and after a long campaign by local residents it has recently reopened as a bar and live music venue. It will soon undergo a further transformation into a major new arts & comedy venue thanks to a £17m restoration budget and the collaboration of Soho Theatre. The hustle and bustle of the High Street is contrasted by the quiet residential streets that surround it. This part of Walthamstow really gives you the best of both worlds, a shopping hub, nightlife, and peace and quiet at home.
In The Owners Words... - When we moved into this house 12 years ago, we did not realise that we were moving into the best area of Walthamstow! It is within easy reach of all that the Stow has to offer and being so close to Walthamstow Central has been brilliant for commuting. We love our house, particularly the light and the sense of space (helped by the wide hallway, massive bedrooms and panoramic hill-top views), and we will miss it when we move out of the area.
