A bright, smart and contemporary two bedroom, split level flat on Markhouse Road, which at over 850 square feet is as spacious as it is stylish.

The bay fronted lounge stretches across the full width of the first floor, offering swathes of light filled space in which to relax or entertain. It has muted tones on the walls and gloriously rich floorboards underfoot, making this a room that you will always want to spend time in.

The kitchen sits directly behind the lounge, off the landing. It has a range of modern fitted units and tiled splashbacks, plus enough space to eat as well as prepare...

- The two bedrooms are split between the two floors. Both are proper doubles, with the one in the loft extension also benefitting from a smart en suite shower room. This en suite compliments the almost identical shower room on the first floor, thus making this a generous two bed/two bath home, and ensuring no queues in the morning.

This beautiful flat has been expertly finished and presented by the current owner, and is guaranteed to be cherished by the next person lucky enough to call it home.

Living here... - We could talk for ages about the joys of Walthamstow, but to do so would be to ignore that this utterly charming property actually sits pretty close to Leyton as well. As such, you really have the best of both worlds on your doorstep. Walk along Markhouse Road and it’s all things E17, with Walthamstow Leisure Centre a gentle stroll away, as are the beautiful and tranquil Walthamstow Marshes. You’re also within easy walking distance of the High Street, where you will find bars and cafes aplenty. Wander across (or along) Lea Bridge Road, and it’s E10 where you are heading. Grab a pint at the Hare & Hounds (you lucky things – what a great local boozer that is), or head down to the unlikely surroundings of the industrial estate on Argall Avenue and sample the delights of Lighthaus café (try the kimchi and cheddar toastie – heavenly!) Alternatively, you could take a meander through Jubilee Park, or hop on the train at the nearby Lea Bridge station, where the next stop is Stratford, meaning Westfield and the Olympic Park are both within easy reach. There’s even easy access via Lea Bridge Road to Chatsworth Road and Clapton beyond, meaning you will genuinely never be short of things to see and do. Seriously, the only thing that is going to trouble you with this flat is deciding what to do next…

In This Area - By Walthamstow Diary - The whine and creak of a passing bus, air thick with the sound of church bells, a green flash of colour in the sky as parakeets fly overhead. A tangle of quiet residential streets, allotments and green spaces, all presided over by a 200 year old lighthouse. Doesn’t sound like Walthamstow does it? But it is - this is Markhouse Road. Whilst Markhouse itself is a main road, the streets that lead off it are anything but. Properties here are a mix of Warner flats, terraced houses, and even some former farmers cottages.
Check out the Pumphouse Museum - it’s free and has working steam engines. It also hosts occasional pop up restaurants in an old Victoria Line tube carriage. Jimmy’s Cafe serves a mean fry up and really good Thai food. St James Street and St James Park are just around the corner, and the Marshes, Central Walthamstow and Walthamstow Village are all within walking distance. As for the lighthouse, it’s actually a church topped with a lantern instead of bells. If you ever get the chance to climb up the tower, do it. You have to navigate ancient, rickety wooden ladders, but the view from top is fantastic.
