A beautifully presented, bright and spacious four bedroom terraced house, spread over three floors, and located on a quiet, no through street just off Forest Road. The luxuries of modern living mix here with original period features and touches, resulting in fantastic, unique and utterly desirable home.
The ground floor is largely open plan, consisting of two spaces – the lounge diner and the adjoining kitchen. This is exactly the layout required by family buyers, being eminently flexible and entirely practical. The lounge diner is light and bright, thanks to its dual aspect and whitewashed floors. It’s also generously proportioned at just under 350 square feet, adding to its versatility as a multi functional space.
Directly off the lounge diner is the galley style kitchen. With modern, matt finish units and beautiful flagstone flooring, this is a kitchen in which it must be a delight to cook, those sleek worktops offering acres of preparation space...
- Upstairs the sleeping accommodation is divided up across two floors. The first floor houses a wonderful, full width double bedroom to the front, as exceptionally decorated as the ground floor, together with two further, rear aspect bedrooms and the family bathroom. The second floor is occupied by a further double bedroom, this one with views front and back, and benefitting from an en-suite WC.
To the rear of the property, and accessed via French doors from the kitchen, is a charming and secluded garden, with patio area, lawn and borders – the perfect spot to relax on a summer’s evening.
Living here... - There are no shortage of things to do in this brilliant part of E17. The William Morris pub is just up the road, or you could try the burgers and cocktails at The Duke on Wood Street. The wonderful Lloyd Park and William Morris Gallery are just a short walk away, offering a multitude of yearly events such as the amazing Walthamstow Garden Party, whilst Chestnut Field is at the end of the road behind the town hall. If exercise is on the agenda, then there’s Peter May Sports Centre, Walthamstow Football Club, LRT Sports Ground and Walthamstow Feel Good Centre close by, or maybe venture a little further afield onto the wide open spaces of Hollow Ponds and Epping Forest. When the weekend all too quickly comes to an end and work beckons, the proximity of Wood Street station, as well as easy access to the A406 and M11, will make the daily commute just that bit more bearable.
As for the kids, when their weekend adventures are over, the local schools are fantastic, including the Oftsed ‘Outstanding’ Woodside Primary Academy and Walthamstow School for Girls, and the TV featured (and ‘Good’ rated) Frederick Bremer secondary school.
In This Area - By Walthamstow Diary - Picture the scene - you are sat in a café, melting into the best hot chocolate you have ever had, watching Morris Dancers whack each other with sticks, whilst a man dressed as a giant ram chases after a group of kids. Wood Street is the kind of place where this sort of stuff happens all the time. As well as events and family fun days, you will also find a load of street art courtesy of Wood Street Walls. Visit Wood Street Indoor Market and roam its narrow corridors which are packed with antiques, vintage, and all sorts of curiosities. Why not visit Homies on Donkeys taqueria, browse through racks of vintage dresses at Gigi's Dressing Room or perhaps indulge in a City Spa Day at Y.Wait Beauty Salon. If you get hungry, The Duke pub is good for beer and burgers, whilst the Flower Pot is a more traditional pub and is fully equipped with pool tables and dart boards. Plus there’s Teras Turkish Barbecue restaurant or The Brothers Fish Bar, which are also popular local haunts. Hollow Ponds boating lake and Epping Forest are just a short walk up Wood Street – both are excellent places to exercise, relax and unwind.
In The Owners Words... - We love the location of our house - on a peaceful road backing onto Chestnut Fields but within easy walking distance of the Village, Wood Street, ‘Feel Good’ centre, lovely Lloyd Park and the Tube. Walthamstow is the friendliest place we have ever lived, with a real sense of community. It’s a thriving and vibrant area, with new cafés, bars, restaurants and markets popping up all the time. It’s particularly brilliant for kids - lots of classes, soft play, playgrounds, and welcoming coffee shops.
We love the open plan space of our home - it’s always filled with light. It was the first home for our little daughter and we hope it will make a warm and happy home for someone else now!
