The great Spanish writer Carlos Luis Zafon once said “There are two things that I cannot live without: music and books”. In which case, he would doubtless be delighted to wander through this wonderful family home and peruse the shelves, for clearly the current owners share his adoration of all things musical and literary. That love is just one of the many reasons this terraced house feels like a home – somewhere that you want to settle down and into, and watch the family grow. Take a peek at the photos and see what we mean. On the ground floor you’ll discover a through lounge with richly coloured stripped wood flooring, which leads seamlessly onto the kitchen and then the conservatory beyond. This flow of rooms, one into the other, is ideal for modern family living, ensuring plenty of communal space for all. Upstairs there are three beautifully presented bedrooms (two of which are doubles) and the family bathroom, whilst the loft offers the possibility to create extra space if required (subject of course to the usual consents and permissions). To round matters off, outside there is private south-facing rear garden – perfect in the summer for allowing the kids to let off steam, or the adults to relax after a hard day at work, perhaps listening to some music whilst devouring a good book. Sounds good, doesn’t it? And if that last mental image doesn’t make you smile, then you may just want to check you’re still alive – certainly Zafon would be querying if you were…

Living here... - With Walthamstow Central station literally around the corner, this is the ideal property for those for whom shortening the daily commute to the minimum time possible is high on their list of house hunting priorities. However, the location of this house scores highly when it comes to leisure time too. (And let’s be honest, that’s much more fun anyway). This house is situated just across Hoe Street from Walthamstow Village, meaning the many eateries and bars of Orford Road are on your doorstep, from the Queens Arms and the Castle, to In Vino Veritas, Village Kitchen and Eat 17. It’s also brilliantly located for the aforementioned Hoe Street, where there is an equally dizzying array of places to eat and drink late into the night (or the early hours of the next morning if you have the energy!) You can even walk to the local cinema within five minutes or so to check out the latest Hollywood blockbuster. It really is convenient for everything you could possibly need to do (or unfortunately have to do, in the case of the daily commute!) If that isn’t enough for you, well frankly we give up…

In This Area - By Walthamstow Diary - Get off the tube at Walthamstow Central and find the world waiting for you. Honestly, this is no exaggeration - if you want something, you’ll likely find it not too far from the station. The market, the longest in Europe, is busy and thriving. Pick up fresh fruit and veg, or visit the rotisserie stall on a Saturday for the best pork or chicken baguettes in town. Next to the market we have a shopping centre packed with high street names, and right at the top of the High Street you’ll find our new cinema and retail complex. Called The Scene, it is home to a ten screen Empire cinema, Pizza Express, and loads of other bars and restaurants. Just around the corner from this new cinema, is a very old one. The Granada opened in 1930, and after a long campaign by local residents it has recently reopened as a bar and live music venue. Now called Mirth, Marvel & Maud, this building is simply stunning. The hustle and bustle of the High Street is contrasted by the quiet residential streets that surround it. This part of Walthamstow really gives you the best of both worlds, a shopping hub, nightlife, and peace and quiet at home.
