We have to say, the owners of this house have done a fabulous job on the renovation. Check out the photos, and you will see for yourself how the light floods into the property, highlighting the beautiful flooring and the neutral colour scheme . The renovation really has been carefully thought through and then brilliantly executed. The open plan nature of the ground floor, with essentially one enormous entertaining space in the kitchen/diner and through lounge, is exactly what families are looking for, whilst the private rear garden (accessed via the dining area or the kitchen) will really come into its own in the Spring and Summer. Upstairs there are four bedrooms and two bathrooms (to compliment the ground floor WC), ensuring both space for all, and no queues in the morning as everyone tries to get ready at the same time. Like we said, carefully thought through, and brilliantly executed. Go on, take a look at the photos – as the saying goes, the camera never lies...

Living here... - The thing about Ringwood Road is that it is slap bang in the middle of Walthamstow, making it the perfect spot to explore E17 from. Where better to wake up on a weekend morning and relax with a coffee in the garden, before bounding out of the door to embrace all the area has to offer? Suitably caffeine-d up, head down to Blackhorse Workshop and try your hand at all sorts of crafting skills, or perhaps head over to The Mall for some retail therapy, before taking in the latest Hollywood blockbuster at The Scene. As the day drifts into evening, the area really comes alive, with bars and restaurants aplenty, from cocktails at Eckovision or Mirth Marvel & Maude, pub grub at The Chequers, or sough dough pizza at SoDo. All this, and only a few minutes’ walk to either Walthamstow Central or St James Street stations. What more could you possibly wish for…?

In This Area - By Walthamstow Diary - The whine and creak of a passing bus, air thick with the sound of church bells, a green flash of colour in the sky as parakeets fly overhead. A tangle of quiet residential streets, allotments and green spaces, all presided over by a 200 year old lighthouse. Doesn’t sound like Walthamstow does it? But it is, this is Markhouse Road. Whilst Markhouse itself is a main road, the streets that lead off it are anything but. Properties here are a mix of Warner flats, terraced houses, and even some former farmers cottages.
Check out the Pump House Museum - it’s free and has working steam engines. It also hosts occasional pop up restaurants in an old Victoria Line tube carriage. Jimmy’s Cafe serves a mean fry up and really good Thai food. St James Street and St James Park are just around the corner, and the Marshes, Central Walthamstow and Walthamstow Village are all within walking distance. As for the lighthouse, it’s actually a church topped with a lantern instead of bells. If you ever get the chance to climb up the tower, do it. You have to navigate ancient, rickety wooden ladders, but the view from top is fantastic.
