Interiors AW22: The Estates East Edit

The big statement in interiors for the last few years has undoubtedly been vintage/industrial, and many of us have adopted elements of it throughout our east London homes and beyond.

But in 2022/23 the vibe is softening and becoming altogether more laidback. Perfect timing as we move inside for Autumn. The shift removes a lot of heaviness from our rooms, also showing in the current colour and fabric trends, which are more neutral. Check out the interiors of the homes on the links too, which are nailing elements of the look, and currently for sale with Estates East.

The 70's Revival

  • Natural elements including rattan, cork, handcrafted ceramics and macrame wallhangings
  • Rich browns, earthy tones, terracotta reds, oranges and mustards
  • A textural mix of patterns, fabrics and rugs including animal prints, shag pile, velvet, geometric shapes and soft curved edges

Greville Road, Walthamstow, London, E17

Bare essentials

  • Minimal, clutter-free rooms create calm environments
  • Warm neutrals with simple accents
  • Light browns that look bright during the day and warm in the evening
  • Limewash walls

Albert Street, Camden, London, NW1

Creative tiling

Tiling has always been a cut-through way to introduce colour and pattern in our homes, but their uses are expanding.

  • Tiling on headboards and feature walls
  • Grey is giving way to warmer tile colours, creative motifs and patterns

Richmond Road, Leytonstone, London, E11

Pink & pastels

From Valentino’s full pink F/W 2022-23 collection, to Margot Robbie’s outfits in the new Barbie movie. Pink is back, and big in the home.

  • A third of brits believe pastel colours are most likely to evoke feelings of wellness, and pastel pink is the most popular shade, particularly when styled with bronze and brass detailing

Fulbourne Road, Walthamstow, London, E17

Open shelving

  • In kitchens, living rooms and in offices
  • Homing essentials, but also the books and plants that feel good to look at
  • Floating shelves with hidden LED spotlights

Francis Road, Leyton, London, E10

Wall panelling

  • Creating texture in a room, playing with the light and adding cosiness wherever it’s needed
  • Feature walls, behind headboards
  • Wall panelling has emerged as the go-to DIY project with social media a hub of inspiration

Salisbury Road, Walthamstow, London, E17
